Lisa looks for Gem

I did enjoy this episode, but not as much as the other one. It was hilarious when Marge first got the bandages on her eyes and everyone was being so nice to her and she said it feels like the first ten minutes of mother's day. I thought it was funny because that is exactly how mother's day is, the mother is taken care of in the morning when everyone first wakes up but after that many times the day just goes on normally. It was also funny how they so blatantly put in the river joke that I'm sure everyone has heard so many times, when you have to get three things across a lake. I'm actually surprised Homer was able to do it. I thought it was interesting when right before going into the convent Lisa changed her necklace from a Darwin necklace to a Jesus necklace, two things that are the center of much debate today. It exemplified the conflict between religion and science. There is no question in my mind that Marge shouldn't have had to sacrifice Maggie for the town. She shouldn't have been expected to leave her own daughter in the convent even if it would've brought peace to their town. Peace depends on the people of the town, not on a little girl who is supposedly a chosen gem.
